William P. Moore – President
Bill Moore is president of Moore & Associates, an international consulting firm that provides a range of strategic services and research to global recycling organizations. Bill’s career as an environmental professional has spanned almost 40 years. His knowledge base includes all aspects of the worldwide supply and demand of recovered paper.
Prior to establishing his consulting firm, Bill held a series of positions in the chemical, solid waste, paper, and recycling industries. Bill was the founder and Vice President of Paper Recycling International, a joint venture of Stone Container. As Director of Recycling for Waste Management, Inc., Bill was responsible for the startup of the “Recycle America” program, the largest introduction of recycling services in the United States. Earlier in his career, Bill was a hazardous waste expert and at the forefront of US manufacturing’s move to maximize waste reduction through process optimization.
Bill is a sought after speaker throughout the world on subjects relating to global recycling and the business side of environmental affairs. He is highly published in the field and has authored more than 50 articles over the past 25 years.
Daniel S. Gee – Senior Associate
Dan Gee is the president of Recovered Paper Consulting, LLC, a firm designed to provide a variety of services to the paper recycling industry. He has been involved in forest products for 38 years, with the past 22 years in the paper recycling industry. He began with the Weyerhaeuser Company in lumber & building product sales, and quickly moved to the paper recycling business in Charlotte, NC. He advanced in sourcing, sales, and brokerage gaining experience in the southeast, mid-west, and northwest U.S. and Canadian regions. After the International Paper acquisition of the Weyerhaeuser brown paper business, he managed the national brokerage business and west region sales/brokerage.
Dan has a unique combination of skills and geographic experience in procurement, sales, export, management, and leadership with strengths in communication and meeting facilitation. He graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Forest Management. Dan and his family reside in the San Francisco bay area.
Susan Cornish, PhD – Associate
With over 20 years of experience in marketing research, Susan has worked for global research providers Synovate and NFO plus several boutique research firms. Susan is President of Insight + Action, a consulting firm that assists B2B clients with marketing strategy development, competitive intelligence, and production of digital and traditional marketing materials. Insight + Action also conducts survey research and analysis and provides recommendations for marketing strategy for clients in B2B and consumer markets.
Susan has worked closely with Fortune 100 clients in many sectors including Consumer Goods, Energy, Environmental Services, Packaging, Retail, and Technology. She has addressed business issues in all aspects of marketing including marketing strategy, market sizing, new product development, market segmentation, communications, and branding.
Susan holds a BA, First Class Honors, from Simon Fraser University where she majored in Geography and Economics. She has an MSc and PhD from the University of Toronto where her dissertation research focused on product innovation.
Dr. Mahendra Doshi – Associate
Dr. Doshi joined the Institute of Paper Chemistry in 1977 and later formed his own company, Doshi and Associates, Inc. He then launched the publication of a quarterly journal, Progress in Paper Recycling. Dr. Doshi is well known in the paper recycling industry for his continuing education courses and seminars. Topics covered include Introduction to Pulp & Paper Technology, Introduction to Paper Recycling, Advances in Paper Recycling, Management and Control of Wax and Stickies and Refining of Chemical Pulps.
In November 2001, Doshi was recipient of The Pulp Manufacture Division Technical Award (the Division’s highest technical award) as well as the associated Johan C. F . C. Richter Prize in recognition of his contributions to TAPPI and the paper industry. In May 2004 Doshi was designated as TAPPI Fellow in recognition of meritorious service to the Association and the industry. In March 2007 Doshi was recipient of The Paper and Board Division Award as well as the associated Harris O. Ware Prize.
Dr. Mahendra Doshi holds a B. S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Bombay University, India and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering, both from Clarkson University, Potsdam, NY.
Jerry Rose – Senior Associate
Jerry Rose has spent his entire business career, well over 40 years, working in the paper industry. Starting as a Tour Boss in a paper mill right out college, he went on to hold a number of senior management positions. Jerry was Vice President of mill operations for Simkins Industries, General Manager of Manufacturing for the Tissue Division for Potlatch Corporation and Vice President and General Manager of two operating divisions for the Continental Group. Jerry was also a principal with the Standard Group and Allegheny Tissue Corporation.
Jerry brings a world of technical and hands-on management experience to Moore & Associates, and is an expert in procurement and operational management. Jerry is a graduate of the New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse.
