William P. Moore – President
Bill Moore is president of Moore & Associates, an international consulting firm that provides a range of strategic services and research to global organizations active in recycling and sustainability. Bill’s career as an environmental professional spans almost 40 years. His knowledge base includes all aspects of supply and demand for recovered paper on a global basis. Prior to establishing his consulting firm, Bill held a series of positions in the chemical, solid waste, paper, and recycling industries. Bill was the founder and Vice President of Paper Recycling International, a joint venture of Stone Container. As Director of Recycling for Waste Management, Inc., Bill was responsible for the startup of the “Recycle America” program, the largest introduction of recycling services in the United States. Earlier in his career, Bill was a hazardous waste expert and at the forefront of US manufacturing’s move to maximize waste reduction through process optimization. Bill is a sought after speaker on subjects relating to recycling, sustainability, and the business side of environmental affairs. He has frequently published in the field and has authored more than 50 articles over the past 25 years. Bill graduated in Chemical Engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology in NJ. He has been based in Atlanta for a number of years where, in his spare time, he enjoys major construction projects around the house – plus plenty of travel over and above what his professional schedule demands. Daniel S. Gee – Senior Associate
Dan Gee is the President of Recovered Paper Consulting, LLC, a firm designed to provide a variety of services to the paper recycling industry. Dan works independently and also partners extensively with Moore & Associates. Dan has been involved in the Forest Products sector for 38 years, with the past 22 years in paper recycling. He began at Weyerhaeuser in lumber & building product sales, and quickly moved to the paper recycling business in Charlotte, NC. Dan has in-depth expertise in sourcing, sales, and brokerage and has excellent knowledge of the industry in the southeast, mid-west, and northwest, in both US and Canada. After International Paper acquired the Weyerhaeuser brown paper business, Dan managed the national brokerage business and west region sales/brokerage. Dan has a unique combination of skills and geographic experience in the paper recycling industry, ranging from procurement, sales, and exports to management and leadership. He has particular strength in communication and meeting facilitation. Dan graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Forest Management. He and his family reside in the San Francisco bay area. |

Susan Cornish, PhD – Sustainability Lead
Susan Cornish is Sustainability Lead for Moore & Associates and President & Principal Consultant at her own company, Insight+ Action which frequently partners with Moore & Associates. Susan has in-depth knowledge of sustainability in packaging and the recycling industry, plus expertise in all aspects of product and packaging innovation research. She has worked with global clients in many sectors including packaging, consumer packaged goods, hospitality and food service, waste management, recycling and non-profits. Prior to her current role, Susan was a Vice President at several global Consumer Insights firms. Here she worked with brand owners in Marketing, contributing to product and packaging development decisions. Susan led research teams, developed better reporting methods, and worked with clients and IT to create client portals and automated reporting. Susan holds an Honors BA, 1st Class, from Simon Fraser University where she majored in Geography and Economics. She has an MSc and PhD from the University of Toronto where her dissertation research focused on product innovation. |

Jeffrey Van Galder – Associate
Jeffrey has over 30 years of experience in operations and sales management roles, including the past 28 years in the recycling & waste equipment industry. In 2007, he established Van Galder LLC as an independent consulting and equipment resource in the MRF and recycling industry. His consultancy has aided companies to enter and expand their presence in the North American market, and has made significant contributions to improving operational efficiency in MRFs. In prior employment, Jeffrey was the Director of Sales and Marketing and Executive Vice President at two recycling equipment manufacturers. In these roles he was responsible for all sales budgeting and performance and corporate operation, strategy, and market development. Included in his responsibilities were managing employees in administration, sales, engineering, purchasing, and production with direct reporting to the CEO and President. Jeffrey worked on key customer relationships, vendor negotiations, and all advertising and marketing responsibilities for the business. His professional achievements include contributing to a young company’s foundational growth and revitalizing an established company to achieve its greatest success in over 40 years. |

Lon Pschigoda – Senior Technical Advisor
Lon is the owner and principal consultant at Inspired Fiber – Papermaking and Sustainability LLC. Here he advises clients on best practice in paper, molded fiber, and coatings. In his prior role, Lon was General Manager at Western Michigan University’s (WMU) Paper Pilot Plants where he led marketing, business development, strategy, and P/L management. Lon also works closely with Moore & Associates on the technical aspects of recovered paper use. Lon’s experience prior to WMU includes roles as a process engineer, senior product specialist, product manager, and director of pricing and marketing. His expertise spans specialty papers (Crown Vantage), coated recycled board (Graphic Packaging), integrated packaging (Sonoco), and natural binders (Tate & Lyle). Lon is an active leader in the industry and participates in the Tappi Coating & Graphic Arts Technical Committee, the Tappi Recycled Fiber Technical Committee. He represents WMU as a subject matter expert on the ISO TC6 (Paper, board, and pulps) working group and NextGen Cup Challenge (McDonalds, Starbucks, Pepsi). Lon has contributed to the development of the WMU Recyclability Protocols which, in conjunction with the Fibre Box Association and the Sustainable Packaging Coalition’s How2Recycle, have been used by numerous brands and manufacturers to guide product development and certify hundreds of fiber-based products as recyclable Lon holds a BS in Paper Science & Engineering from Western Michigan University. |
